South East Energy Petroleum Company is the main research and engineering company for oil and gas industry in the UAE.

The company was founded in 1949 as the sole design engineering institute of the Oil Ministry, and covers all activity in this field on the territory of the UAE. By the early 1990s South East Energy Petroleum Company was the only consultant for the Emirati hydrocarbon industry. Starting with 1991, the company was reorganized as a wholly private joint- stock company.
